19 August 2013 - Chad has decided to suspend all operations of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), for an oil spill in Koudalwa (200 km south of N'Djamena), where the Chinese group is drilling for oil. CNPC produces oil from Koudalwa and processes about 15,000 bbl/d of oil (750 kt/year) in its Djermaya refinery in N'Djamena. The refinery has already been closed twice before due to disputes between the government and CNPC over pricing.
