19 August 2013 - A joint venture of the Moapa Band of Paiute Indians, Terrible Herbst and Stronghold Engineering plan to build up to 1.5 GW of renewable capacity in the Moapa reservation in Nevada (US). In a first phase, the joint venture will develop a 250 MW solar power plant, whose cost and suppliers were not disclosed. The renewable capacity could be later expanded to 1.5 GW. The tribe also considers replacing a coal-fired power plant with a natural-gas power plant.
