13 August 2013 -BP plans to market part of its LNG portfolio in India, through its joint venture with Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Indian Gas Solutions (IGS). In February 2013 BP had signed a 20-year tolling agreement with Freeport LNG (US) for 4.4 Mt/year of liquefaction capacity. LNG deliveries are not expected before 2017. IGS was set up in late 2011 when BP bought a 30% stake in RIL's oil and gas exploration blocks for US$7.2bn. The joint venture is focusing on LNG development and expressed interest in purchasing a 25% stake in the proposed Mundra LNG terminal in Gujarat.
