26 July 2013 - Woodfibre LNG, a subsidiary of the Pacific Oil & Gas Group, has filed an LNG export application with the Canadian National Energy Board (NEB).
Woodfibre Natural Gas Limited is proposing to construct a liquefaction and export facility project with a proposed capacity of approximately 2.1 Mt/year. If approved, it would be located at the waterfront industrial site of Western Forest Product's former pulp mill near Squamish.
The NEB has already issued 20-year export licences to three other LNG proponents, to Douglas Channel Energy Project, to Kitimat LNG and to LNG Canada.
