22 July 2013 - Petronas, Malaysia's state oil and gas company, has started negotiations with potential buyers to sell a stake in Engen Petroleum, South Africa’s largest fuel retailer. Petronas holds 80% of the company since 1998; the remaining part being owned by Pembani Group . Engen operates a 135,000 bbl/d refinery and a lubricating-oils blending plant in Durban. PetroSA, South Africa’s state-owned oil company, is considering buying a stake, thus gaining access to customers in more than 20 African countries where it has a network of 1,500 filling stations.
