[에너지신문] 13 May 2016 - Italian energy group Eni has announced a new strategy aimed at reducing its CO2 emissions by 24% from current levels by 2025; the group aims to achieve a zero routine flaring by 2025 and a 43% reduction of emissions per barrel produced.

Eni's strategy is based on the maximisation of the use of gas, for power generation as for transport, and on the development of renewable energies.

58% of Eni's upstream portfolio is made up of gas assets and the group plans to develop gas resources in Mozambique, Egypt and Indonesia. The group will focus on new gas projects in Ghana, Mozambique, Angola, Congo and Nigeria.

Eni will also boost the development of renewable energies in countries where it is active and with a large potential, such as Egypt or Pakistan.
