[에너지신문] Shell has decided to withdraw its application from the 23rd licensing round organised by the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy of Norway in January 2015, citing its global portfolio optimisation strategy following the acquisition of BG and persistent low oil prices.
The 23rd licensing round offers 57 blocks or parts of blocks in the Norwegian Arctic (54 in the Barents Sea and 3 in the Norwegian Sea). Shell had applied for drilling permissions in December 2015, hoping to start drilling in 2017. The awards will be announced by July 2016.
