[에너지신문] 02 February 2016 - Kuwait's state-owned oil and gas company Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) plans to create a new company to operate its Al-Zour refinery project. The new company will manage the refinery and the related petrochemical complex, including a proposed LNG import terminal (expected in 2020), which could have a capacity of 15 bcm/year (possibly raised to 30 bcm/year).
The 165,000 bbl/d Al-Zour refinery project has been planned for more than a decade but has been repeatedly delayed by political and bureaucratic issues. The project is now expected to be completed in November 2019, at a cost of KWD 4.871bn (US$16bn).
