[에너지신문] 02 February 2016 - The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO), the power utility of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, has awarded state-run engineering company Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) a Main Plant Package contract worth Rs 2,759 crore (US$406m) for the 800 MW North Chennai Supercritical TPS Stage III.
The 800 MW coal-fired supercritical power project will be developed by BHEL on the site of the existing 1,830 MW North Chennai power plant. The project, whose foundation stone has just been laid, shall be commissioned by August 2019
