[에너지신문] 23 May 2016 - Argentina has announced a new programme running until December 2018, aimed at boosting gas production through a system of incentives.
Under the programme, producers starting gas projects and not benefiting from existing incentive programmes ("Programa de Estímulo a la Inyección Excedente de Gas Natural" and "Programa de Estímulo a la Inyección de Gas Natural para Empresas con Inyección Reducida" created in 2013) will be offered a premium on top of market prices to benefit from a guaranteed price of US$7.5/mBtu. The premium will replace the "Programa de Estímulo a la Inyección de Gas Natural para Empresas Sin Inyección" introduced in 2015.
The government expects the measure to increase domestic production, to stop importing LNG within 5 or 6 years.
