[에너지신문] 02 February 2016 - The consortium operating the giant Leviathan gas field off Israel has signed a contract with independent power producer Edeltech for the supply of 6 bcm of gas over 18 years (more than 333 mcm/year). The gas will be supplied to two CCGT power projects, a 140 MW plant in the Haifa Chemicals plant in the Rotem Plain, and the 77 MW Solad project at the CHP plant in Ashdod. Both plants are jointly owned and built by Edeltech and Turkish company Zorlu.
This is the first contract in Israel for the Leviathan consortium (Delek Drilling 22.67%, Avner Oil & Gas 22.67%, Noble Energy 39.66%, and Ratio 15%). The Leviathan gas field was discovered in 2010 and is estimated to hold 620 bcm of gas reserves.
